Set inside what was once a Gothic church, Mark's remains a shrine for those who appreciate haute cuisine and a majestic atmosphere. The principle dining area is perfect for hobnobbing. But if romance is on your mind, ask for the intimate perch called the Loft. A private room called the Alcove can also be reserved for small gatherings of up to eight. All the rooms have their own distinctive accents, but the focal point is the main room with its illuminated arched ceiling and wine room, which sparkles from above like a stained-glass window. This feast for the eyes can only be matched by the spectacular food. The menu is updated seasonally, but dishes such as the roasted garlic and cauliflower flan and the Kentucky bourbon pork tenderloin are served all year. The raspberry lemonade is a Mark's standard and a Houston favorite for hot summer days. Recognized chef Mark Cox is behind the ship's steering wheel.

I was so busy enjoying the atmosphere, it almost took away from my dining experience...but not really. We went for our anniversary and it was a wonderful evening...everything was perfect...

The food and atmosphere were fabulous, but our waiter was very rude. We caught him several times laughing at our table and making rude gestures to the other servers right in front of us.
