Price Per Person: $30+* Kid-Friendly Perks: None Blue Plate Special:Ruth's Chris takes the finest aged, corn-fed USDA Prime beef, cooks it in custom-made broilers at temperatures exceeding 1700 degrees to release the steak's natural flavor, and then serves it up on a 500-degree plate to ensure that the steak stays sizzling all the way into your belly. The Dish: Ruth's Chris Steak House has been serving up some of the tastiest steaks around (at moderate prices) since the first one opened in New Orleans in 1965. This family-oriented restaurant offers fresh seafood, chicken, veal, lamb, salads and vegetables, in addition to its savory filet, NY strip, porterhouse, rib-eye and T-bone steaks. Those not interested in beef should give the mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat, the fresh lobster or the stuffed chicken breast a go-around. An extensive wine list is also offered. Top off your meal with a slice of chocolate sin cake - that is, if you have room for dessert. Lunch is available at some locations. The Atmosphere: Each location is decorated according to local tastes. What they all have in common is a relaxed, informal atmosphere where diners feel free to linger. -- Tom DiChiara *Price Per Person includes entree, drink & dessert

Idiots
By Pirsch on 07/08/2008
Anyone who thinks Saltgrass Steakhouse is good, or a stekhouse, shouldn't be allowed to vote. You are truly an idiot. The filet is top notch, as well as the spinach. Try the bread pudding for desert. Fabulous. Fleming's and Sullivan's are also great steakhouses but don't make the list here (for some unknown reason).

Very Dissappointed
By Txteebird on 06/11/2008
My husband and I went there once, and we will never go back! Our steaks tasted too much like butter. It's way too rated for the cost and most importantly the flavor! Everything cost separate, too. You have to pay for your steak, bake potato, and salad separately! It was a truly a disappointment. Salt Grass Steak House is 10 tons better, and you get your salad with your steak at no cost!

Always great

Best filet by far. The creamed spinich with sharp chedar cheese is fantastic. Been to many other steak houses in Houston and still best filet. Papas Steak House is also great, but order the NY Strip as their filet can't touch the filet at Ruth Chris.
