With only an inconspicuous blue door to signify its entrance, this unmarked hideaway can be difficult to find. For the uninitiated, that could mean circling the area for hours. But once your sleuth skills kick in and you find the way inside, you quickly realize you've stumbled upon an underground safe house for lovers of all kinds. Marfreless has two floors with lighting ranging from dark to darker to darkest. The furnishings may be slightly worn and dated, but that's not the draw of the place. The neutral tones of the furniture discreetly blend into the room, much the way its patrons wish to. Downstairs offers bar and table seating for those platonic evenings with friends. Upstairs you will find bodies on sofas arranged down a narrow corridor that dead-ends into a pitch-black abyss. For entertainment, pick up the indecipherable Roget's infused leaflet explaining the genesis of the name Marfreless. -- Sarah Nichols

Great place. I love it. My boyfriend loves the place and he's very picky with his "spots". So if he loves it, then it must be good!!! Great service and the BEST martini's you will ever have. Start off with the apple martini's it'll feel like you've died and gone to heaven

My boyfriend Chris introduced me to Marfreless almost a year ago. The two of us now refer to it as "The Blue Door," it's our own little secret (from our friends and co-workers) escape from the world. The service and martinis never disappoint, either does the chair to the immediate left at the top of the stairs...
