Sinatra and the 'Ocean's Eleven' crew would feel right at home at this 1950's Chicago-style steakhouse with the traditional men's club decor that features rich mahogany woods and pictures of famous professional athletes covering the walls. With tables draped in white linen topped with fresh flowers, this restaurant chain speaks to sophisticated diners willing to dig into their wallets for select cuts of meat. The 20-ounce bone-in Kansas City strip steak is a house specialty. Step up to the next level with the hefty 24-ounce porterhouse or the robust rib eye if you are looking for something over-the-top. Au gratin potatoes, creamed spinach and skillet steak mushroom caps are just a few of the sides that accompany your steak. Seafood fans can order hearty oyster, crab, tuna, salmon or shrimp dishes. Reservations are recommended on the weekends, but most walk-ins attest that it is a short wait. Besides, it gives you time for a dry martini and cigar in the house bar.

Best all around
By Ddjpark on 07/25/2008
I've eaten at 4 of the top 5. Sullivan's is the best for everything including price and menu selection. St. Elmo's may be #1 for steaks, but not for price and menu. Sullivan's has great chicken and seafood selections also. Shula's has gigantic servings and prices. Mo's was the most overpriced, over-hyped steakhouse I've ever visited. Ruth Cris' is fine, but the service Ive gotten at Sullivans was the best ever. The waitresses are the greatest, most informative, politest..... They even brought out a sample of one dish for us to try before we ordered!!!

Too cramped for comfort!
By DebraG500 on 06/11/2008
The food was delicious, although pricey, but the worst part of the whole evening was how cramped and crowded it was. There were 10 of us sitting at a table for 8. As I cut my steak, I was elbowing my brother-in-law in the side. I felt nuzzled every time the waiter filled my water glass!
