Step into the Victorian atmosphere of one of the most popular steakhouses in Jackson. The strip steak, prime rib and filet mignon are favorites, but Gilbert's also serves up lake perch, chicken bearnaise and fried shrimp. Smoking is permitted, and a kid's menu is available. Gilbert's has been filling bellies for more than half a century, and there seems to be no reason why people in Jackson will go hungry in the 21st century.

It takes more then a ride on the coat tails of a good name, but Jackson is "Poor, stupid Jackson, they wouldn't know the difference.......Guess somebody did. It's for sale AGAIN!!!

lousy service, uncooked food
my first return to Gilbert's under new management was a huge disappointment. Our server brought uncooked food and then never came back to see if "everything was allright" until he presented the check. He did not offer coffee, drinks or dessert at the completion of our meal. Food was disappointing and service was pathetic. Sadly, I will no longer return to this locally run steakhouse
