It looks like Club 5, smells like Club 5, and, for the most part, acts like Club 5, but the Marquee Theatre aint Club 5. Oh, sure, they still have the clubby theme nights like Girls on Film Wednesdays and The Gallery Saturdays, the chain smoking shoe-gazer clientele and the DJs spinning house and hip-hop out the wazoo. The real difference, however, is in the bands. In taking over Club 5, Jack Rabbits' owner Tim Hall made a commitment to bringing more national bands to the River City. What hes put together, so far, has been the unlikeliest combination of acts the citys ever seen. From MTV pets Oleander and Stroke 9 to "Where are They Now?" bands Skid Row and the Outfield; from guitar heroes Buddy Guy and Robin Trower to the underappreciated Donna the Buffalo and Seven Nations, the Marquee Theatre fills an unmet need in Jacksonvilles music scene, while preserving the best of an old favorite. -- Kerry Speckman

CONNEXION PENSACOLA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL NOVEMBER 2004 (ALL GENRES) Let us tell you about “Connexion - Pensacola International Music Festival”, hosted by the HILTON GARDEN INN & JUBILEE ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX on Pensacola Beach, Florida. We are doing talent searches nationwide looking for the best of the best and giving them the opportunity to showcase their talent to major representatives in the music industry. We are providing a warehouse of talent for Record Labels, A&R's and representatives in the music industry so they can pick and choose who they would like to represent. There will be no cost for the up and coming stars other than a $20 application fee to offset handling process. We do understand that they are at the beginning of their career and funds are low plus this is all about them and not us. We are also here to provide a platform for talent to be seen and heard by the right people. Too many talented people get lost and forgotten because they do not have the funds or the opportunity to showcase themselves. The Marquee Rocks
By kmc222dmc on 10/01/2003
I saw Un Loco, OBC and Papa Roach there and the show rocked. The sound was awesome and the crowd rocked. The mosh pit was hellacious; packed tight with fans. There was enough room for the hundreds of people and three different levels of viewing. The Marquee is the best concert place to go.

Its a decent place to see a concert. For those who miss the Milkbar this will make up some for Jacksonville's loss of good shows since Milkbar's death. Their Accoustics SUK! but I heard that they Finally had a sound engineer come in and tune the sound. They get some good shows but could get More. The Marquee is awesome. The All-American Rejects were awesome! You can go there and have the crazy "concert" experience and still feel safe.(but what about some weekend concerts 4 those of us that have stuff to get up 4 in the A.M?)
