At Bistro Aix, chef Tom Gray and owners have created a cozy yet forward-thinking eatery that will satisfy foodies and trendsetters alike. The fare -- prepared in an open kitchen -- features seafood, pastas, oven-grilled pizzas and grilled entrees prepared with French- Med touches such as tomatoes, fennel, garlic and pasta. Favorites include the calamari appetizer, roast chicken with wild mushrooms and fresh fish specials. The menu has plenty of lighter options (grilled, seasoned with broth) as well as hearty (creamy pastas, au gratins). For dessert, choose from scrumptious tarts and decadent chocolate cakes -- the dessert menu varies.Bistro Aix also features an extensive wine list to complement your dining experience. For lunch or dinner, you can get away with a petite bill if you stick with the pizzas, but otherwise the menu is a bit pricey -- and worth it.
