Step inside b.b.s restaurant, and you may feel as if youre stepping into a chic cafe in Manhattan or South Beach. As the tagline states, its a groovy place to b. Theres lots of energy inside this bustling eatery, and that plus the etched glass hanging from the ceiling and the gleaming stainless wine bar lend to its urban feel. For lunch, the menu features several entree salads, sandwich and foccacia pairings, gourmet pizzas and usually one or two fish specials. During dinner, the menu shifts to add entrees such as beef tenderloin with warm boursin fennel onion marmalade, Indian spiced duck breast and roasted herb chicken. Whether youre dining for lunch or dinner, popular appetizers include tuna tartar, bruschetta and calamari. Most fans of b.b.s will tell you this: save room for dessert. The refrigerated case on the way to the restrooms (make sure check out the funky sinks in the powder rooms) house an irresistible array of pies, 10-layer cakes, fruit tarts and more. The dessert servings are huge, so unbutton your pants and get forks for all. The restaurant serves beer and wine only, with more than 100 wine selections by the bottle and another 50 by the glass. They dont take reservations, and there are only about 30 tables in the bistro, so expect to wait if youre there during prime lunch and dinner times. --Liz Morgan
