With lace curtains, brightly painted walls and Mexican paraphernalia scattered about, La Nopalera practically hits you over the head with authenticity (at least from a gringo's perspective). The menu, too, seems authentic, truly Mexican rather than the bastardized Tex-Mex we've all come to expect.Of course, authentic doesn't necessarily mean creative or exciting. Chips and salsa are presented gratis when you sit down. Choose from dishes like quesadillas, chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos or dozens of other options. Tamales, fajitas, tacos... it's all at La Nopalera. Prices are great, meaning low; almost everything on the menu is less than $10. -- K.F. Murphy

USED TO BE MUCH BETTER...
VERY SALTY BEANS, SLOW AND LOUSY SERVICE, "NEW WAITRESS" AT THE SAN PABLO/BEACH BLVD. LOCATION.
MAYBE THE OWNERS ARE ON VACATION BECAUSE NORMALLY IT IS VERY GOOD..AND GOOD SERVICE.
THEY NEED SOME FUN LOVING BARTENDERS THOUGH.

I thought the food was good but the ambiance a bit lacking. Service was excellent. People are really nice there.

Great food, good service and low prices. Yes, even the waiters
are authentic Mexicans. Perhaps they should offer a discount
if you speak to them in Spanish!
