Unpretentious, friendly and welcoming, The Quaff has been a downtown Kansas City landmark for more than 50 years. The sprawling tavern has expanded over the years, encompassing three street-level rooms to accommodate the booming lunch-hour business, after-work crowd and late-night revelers. With its mismatched vinyl booths, neon beer signs, tangle of weathered chairs and tables, vintage green-and-white linoleum tile floor and tin ceiling, The Quaff provides a down-to-earth backdrop for business professionals grabbing a quick lunch, conventioneers soaking in local color and neighborhood sports fans catching weekend games on one of the tavern's wide-screen TVs. The menu overflows with typical bar fare -- burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, wings and anything that can be battered and fried -- and the genial servers are always ready to deliver cold beer and cocktails. For the competitive and rowdy, The Quaff offers pool, darts, Pop-A-Shot and shuffleboard to test athletic skill and steady aim. Or, if you're more in the mood to play the spectator's role, order a brew, grab a table and watch one of the many televised contests.

Great bar in town

The Quaff is the best place to be. It is one of the only bars that I know that is run by family. Joe Quaff and his sons run the best bar in town.Take time out of your day and check it out.

The Quaff is within walking distance of my apartment and has become my favorite bar since moving downtown. The owner and the staff are really cool and the waitresses are pretty hot! Highly recommended.

I find the Quaff overated. We were treated terribly by the staff, the food was not that impressive as there are many better places in town for food and drink especially bar type establishments.
