Wonderful experience
This quaint restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and wonderful food. We had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. Even though it was busy (Valentine's Day) the wait staff was very nice and answered all of our questions. They genuinely wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our meal. The beef sambusa appetizers are delicious and I highly recommend them. The sampler platter was fantastic too. If you've never eaten without utensils, you have to try Blue Nile. Lastly, the coffee ceremony was super. Overall, this was a very nice night out. Daniel and his staff do a wonderful job and we will definitely return.
Disappointed with injera
Traditional injera is made with only teff flour - no wheat flour added. This makes it wonderful for folks with celiac and other gluten sensitivities. We used to eat frequently at Addis Ababa which used only teff flour. When they closed we wondered over to Blue Nile. Unfortunately, for some reason they use wheat flour in their injera which means that we can't eat there :(.
I'm sure the rest of the food is good - it smelled delicious! But it was quite disappointing to find out it had been "amercanized" in this fashion.
Wonderful Fresh Healthy Food!
My family has eaten at all of the metro area's ethiopian restaurants. We have found that not only is the Blue Nile's tempting menu and delicately prepared dishes please the palate but the quality is always consistant. I'd have to give the expertise of the seasoning, preperation, and thought a big 5 stars.
Wonderful atmosphere....go in and dine they have really beautiful paintings and art work everywhere!!! Such a pleasure to the eye....
