Walk into the dimly lit and heavily decorated original Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue in Martin City (south of Kansas City), and you'll be immediately engulfed by the rich, savory smells of perfectly prepared barbecue. Everything is prepared with great attention to detail, and the atmosphere is friendly and family-like. Lest you forget where the meat comes from, there are plenty of ceramic pigs and cow heads covering the walls to remind you. The staff is incredibly accommodating -- feel free to ask for watever substitutions will make you happy, they don't mind at all. If you're not into traditional barbecue, they offer some delicious fish selections, like grilled salmon and red trout. Make sure you get a take-out menu as you leave, you'll want to eat here often.
