Mc Coy's Public House & Brew   

No cheesy themes or gimmicks pervade this friendly microbrewery and restaurant. Dimly lighted and piled with wood surfaces, the bar has a homey elegance designed for broad-based appeal. In fact, with its various rooms and compartments, McCoy's is like a honeycomb of beer-fueled boisterousness. (There's also plenty of hard liquor, including a solid selection of single-malt scotches and bourbons.) Professionals and neighborhood types ring the large octagonal bar, sipping IPAs, brown ales, stouts, lagers and other house specialties. Groups of friends and couples on dates install themselves at the tables that surround the bar. With a thoughtful menu that contains everything from wings and pizzas to grilled tuna and steaks, McCoy's ensures that you can find a dish -- or several -- to match any mood or whim. An alcove off one side of the bar holds a stage that is sometimes graced by jazz and blues bands. A separate room holds a comfy cigar lounge where folks can order Dominican and Honduran smokeables while sinking into leather couches and chairs. In warmer months, the front patio is among the most popular spots in the area.
