For nearly a century there's been a deli or restaurant of some type where Accurso's Main Street Deli now sits. It's a place that feels exactly the way it looks -- comfortable, friendly and with a healthy dash of history. Accurso's is now just a deli in name. While the traditional and tasty deli sandwiches are still a big hit, a new crowd has recently been attracted to Accurso's. That's because the owners have transformed the restaurant into something more -- an Italian eatery with a flare for authentic cuisine and unique, one-of-a-kind dishes. Accurso's hired well-known Kansas City chef Mario Vega and let him create several signature dishes. Many are weekly specials that never make it on the menu. Others, like the filet topped with seafood cream sauce, have become a favorite of regulars. To top off a satisfying meal try the cannoli or cheesecake.
