Located in a restored freight building adjacent to Union Station, the dining room at Lidia's is large but somehow manages to maintain that nice romantic glow you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. At Lidia's, the ambiance of the indoor and outdoor dining area is pure elegance, and both the crowd and the food can best be described as chic. Enjoy selections like Lidia's version of the traditional Caesar, with Romaine hearts, a dressing seasoned with mustard, anchovies, imported Parmigano-reggiano cheese and croutons. The standard at Lidia's is her daily pasta tasting, which consists of three fresh, homemade pastas. Your plate will be refilled as often as you like by servers who wander the room with pans full of Italian delicacies. There are weekly specials, and the menu is always based on seasonal ingredients. The dessert menu is also much larger than most Italian restaurants, encompassing specialties from all over Italy. Lidia's also boasts one of the best brunches in town, with fresh pasta, antipasta, steak and eggs and a truly remarkable dessert table. Lidia's truly creates a dining experience to be savored. -- Kate Cagley

Wow! Awesome food coupled with the most beautiful setting indoors in KC. Highly recommend the pear/gorgonzola salad, pasta trio and one of their awesome desserts.

Try the Sunday brunch
By jenwilding on 06/12/2007
There is no better Sunday brunch in Kansas City. The food is fresh and beautifully prepared, there is lots of variety, and you can order entrees off the menu. It's a wonderful splurge to enjoy breakfast in such lovely surroundings.

Good to give it a try.

The food is just average. The price is too much for the quantity and quality we get. The bad part is the service is very very BAD. ! I recommend "Jaspers".
