Rate and Write a Review Inspired by her own mother's Cajun-style restaurant, Rose "Sis" Vincent White continues the tradition at The Boarding House. The name remains the same, and so do authentic dishes such as crawfish etouffee, shrimp and crabmeat gumbo, and pork and sausage jambalaya. The only difference is that The Boarding House is now mainly a catering service. However, an added Specialty Market still allows customers to order from a daily lunch menu, swing by, and pick up the meal at their convenience. The best part is that customers get a home-cooked meal, but without a long wait or service charge. Choose from a variety of specials, including po'boys ($3.50), barbecued ribs lunch plates ($5), and, of course, chicken and sausage gumbo (also sold by the pint and quart). Most specialty market items are also sold frozen and can be stored easily or popped in the microwave. Delivery is available for orders of 10 or more.
