True to its name, ghostbar feels as if it's hovering over Vegas, a world apart from the chaos below. Located on the 55th floor of the Palms, this club boasts a spectacular view of the Strip and much of the valley. But ghostbar is more than its view -- it's a fun, hip spot to relax, enjoy a cocktail and listen to some great rock and hip-hop music. The room is perfectly rectangular and decked out with space-age bachelor-pad type furnishings. The crowd lounging on those funky silver sofas and chairs is as cool as the decor. Not only does ghostbar offer a 180-degree view from its windows, but you can head outside onto the patio to enjoy an even wider view and the Vegas night air. The patio extends straight out the front of the club and there are two bars on either side. There are a few spots to sit outside, but the crowd mostly comes to stand, mix and mingle. You'll never feel more in touch with Vegas' intangible spirit as when you're standing on the transparent glass section of ghostbar's patio, looking straight down to the pool area hundreds of feet below. It's vertigo, sure, but it feels kind of good. Warning: if you're afraid of heights, you might want to indulge in one of ghostbar's cocktails before you try this. Drink service at ghostbar is quick and drinks average $8 - $9.ghostbar is a small, intimate club and it's immensely popular with the 20- and 30-something crowds. Get there early or buy a nightclub line pass if you don't want to wait.

Lame with a View
By spicygrrl on 03/23/2005
We went on a Sunday nite which might have been our first mistake. The staff were all quite lovely and we were not charged by the sweet doorman, but the clientele was HORRIBLE. Only a few pretty people...mostly just a bunch of greasy midwesterners (one was actually wearing a Mickey Mouse windbreaker!!!) and some old dudes in Tommy Bahama shirts. Go for the view and one drink (at least it was strong!), but this place was a yawn and a half. Oh, how the hip & mighty have fallen.

Overrated, Disappointed, & Not Worth Your Time!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
By sinst77 on 02/28/2005
I was very excited to attend the ghost bar. It was my first stop on my things to do in vegas list. I was very disappointed. My friends and I had about 3 drinks, and then we left early. The club was very seperate. I also did not feel the 'ghost' vibe from the panintings. The ghost bar looked MUCH better on Travel Network. The music was also not the best. The DJ would change the song once you started dancing to the beat. The DJ was awful!

overated and disapointing
By dixypixy5 on 02/25/2005
I must admit, once I got to vegas, I could not wait to hit the "hot spots". The ghost bar was first on my list, due to it's reputation for having some A list stars attend from time to time. Unfortunately, the only people there were yuppies, and it was very clicky...The bar is so small...and the music was not of today. The outside did have a fantastic view of the strip which was neat...and of course the famous "glass floor" fifty some odd stories up....Stand on it if you dare...LOL. After about 2 drinks we ended up leaving to go somewhere fun. To be honest with you guys reading this...the only "thrill" I got out of attending the Ghost Bar was just knowing that I had been in a place where Pitt and Clooney have hung out..mmmmmm....lol :)

EXCITED FOR NOTHING!

THE FIRST THING I WANTED TO DO WHEN I WENT TO VEGAS WAS GO TO THE GHOST BAR...WELL LET ME TELL YOU I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. AS SOON AS WE WALKED IN THE BOUNCER GAVE ME A SENSE OF WHAT IT WAS GOING TO BE LIKE WHEN I GOT UP THERE...NO PERSONALITIES WHAT SO EVER. CRUDE AND COLD. WHEN WE WENT UPSTAIRS I FELT LIKE I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL AGAIN WITH CLIQUES. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. IF I WERE TO GO TO VEGAS AGAIN I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT GO THERE. THE DRINKS WERE GOOD AND THE BARTENDERS WERE ALRIGHT! WHERE I COME FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NUMBER ONE, JUST A HELLO WOULD HAVE NICE, BUT I GUESS THAT IS TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR..
