Sometimes you just want to retreat into your own private drinking hideaway. The Artisan is happy to oblige. This sanctuary just west of the Strip offers a wealth of amenities for those looking to just kick back. The lounge is roomy, sports plenty of overstuffed chairs and couches, boasts inexpensive drinks and is dimly lit: the latter makes it a great place to meet a date or just hang out with friends. It's all the comforts of an ultra lounge without the exorbitant prices. Plus, you'll actually be able to carry on a conversation -- no pulsating DJ or obnoxious crowds to deal with. At this hip, relaxed hangout, it's just easy to exist. In addition to its lounge, the Artisan also features a hotel and spa. Be sure to take a tour of the lobby to see its vibrant artwork and mission-style furniture, just be sure to watch where you're walking -- they keep it tranquilly dark in there.

STAY AWAY!
By Bradfordbr on 08/25/2009
Absolutely terrible hotel. Strangest hotel I have ever seen. Seems like when it was built, it must have been nice, but the current owner is allowing it to go to hell. WATCH OUT for bogus charges on your bill, like $11.50 per night for valet parking that was never disclosed by valet or the front desk. When I argued, I was told it is in the fine print on my bill. BUT - the lobby is REALLY dark, you cannot read your bill. It's dark like a disco, no kidding! Now I have to dispute this charge with my bank. Then, TV didn't work. Remote control didn't work. A/C didn't work. Telephone didn't work. Ice machine didn't work. There is no manager on site, and he will not even call you back. Seems like they want to extort every penny they can from their guests and don't want to provide any services at all. STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!!!

Going downhill
By Knela75 on 08/19/2009
The artisan hotel was trendy, but behind the dark, european style walls hides a dark secret...There is hardly anyone working there. Their roomservice is average, room was dirty, housekeeping was hardly ever there. I believe the only positive experience we had there was the bar and night club. Rumors are that the owner is not paying the employees, therefore the employees are stealing from the rooms to make up for the lack of pay. The owner's car got repossesed, and he doesn't make enough money. Our television had been stolen in our room so we ended up with a 17 inch monitor serving as a television. Seeing the hotel, makes it impossibe to believe that the owner wouldn't take care of it, because it has potential. Please stay somewhere else!!!
