Come March 17, folks rush the bar at O'Sheas for their fix of Guinness and other Irish spirits. (Hint: it's a favorite for St. Patty's Day, so guests are advised to get an early start.) Indeed, O'Sheas and Guinness have a storied history together. In 2000, food and beverage manager (and former Emerald Islander) Patrick McKenna led more than 320,000 participants in Guinness Beer's annual "Raise a Pint" simultaneous toast that put O'Shea's in the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records (more than 64 cities competed in the contest). Operated by the Flamingo Las Vegas, O'Shea's was built in 1989 and sits on a former parking lot. The casino, which has no adjoining hotel, offers 18 table games including craps, roulette, blackjack, Let It Ride, Caribbean stud poker and over 500 slots, most of which are quarter progressives. The casino also hosts the popular hypnotist Justin Tranz and a Magic & Move Hall of Fame, which houses exhibits on ventriloquism and magic.
