If location is everything, this place is ideal. The three-story Somerset House is one block east of the Strip between the Stardust Hotel & Casino and the Las Vegas Convention Center; two miles from McCarran International airport; two blocks from a major shopping center; and two miles from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. There are 104 large rooms and 36 mini-suites, all of which come with a refrigerator, color TV, AM/FM radio, direct push button phones, electronic message service, and one or two oversized beds. For those who prefer a more home-like environment, the Somerset has 63 suites with full kitchens and 17 with kitchenette, making it the ideal location for families. Complimentary coffee and free in-house movies are available in every room. Guests especially enjoy the Olympic-size heated swimming pool and recreation center. - Peggy Strickler
