Ask any karaoke enthusiast what the top places in Vegas for karaoke are, and chances are, Ellis Island will be the first name mentioned. The casino and brewery has reached near-legendary status as THE place to go to pick up a mike and sing your heart out. Perhaps that's because Ellis Island is the only place in town to feature karaoke every night. Perhaps it's because of it's proximity to the Strip. Whatever the case, if you're burnin' to get on stage quickly, tip the host a few bucks, because this place fills up fast. Ellis Island also serves up a menu full of pizzas, chicken and pasta 24 hours. The bar's microbrewery produces an amber, Hefeweizen, dark and light lager and root beer. In addition to roulette, craps and blackjack, Ellis Island's casino offers free bingo on weekdays and plenty of video poker games.

Ellis Island is a small dive of a casino, but has some of the best food and definitely the best prices in Vegas. You can get a tall glass of microbrewed beer for only $1 and you can get a steak dinner for $4.95 complete with soup/salad, potato and veggie. And from 5-10pm the BBQ pit is open where they have AWESOME heaping portions of BBQ for dirt cheap prices. The only bad thing about this place is the long waits for a seat in the restaurant or BBQ, and it tends to be even smokier than most casinos because it's so small. But if you don't mind playing penny slots while you wait an hour to eat... you have to check this place out!
