They say good things come in small packages. Well, here's a word to the wise: good things come in big packages, too. Take the Four Seasons for example. Although it's technically part of Mandalay Bay, you'd have a hard time knowing it. With its own private entrance, express elevators, pool, health club, recreation area, parking, restaurants and meeting area, the Four Seasons is one of the finest and most luxurious hotels in Las Vegas. Guests come here for the opulence, not the typical Vegas distractions.Inside the Four Seasons, all is calm and quiet. As would be expected, there is a great deal of fine marble and woodwork, as well as giant floral arrangements, which in addition to being stunning, are actually real flowers -- a welcome addition in Vegas. Rooms, suites and conference areas are located on the top five floors of the Mandalay Bay tower, and can only be reached by a bank of express elevators. Providing the ultimate in privacy, pampering and comfort, these rooms have amenities unlike any other hotel on the Strip. The beds have feather pillows and down comforters, robes are plush and the bathrooms have standout features, including marble tile and deep-soaking tubs. The posh rooms even boast in-room toasters for your morning bread. The up-level suites go all the way up to massive three-bedroom affairs that wrap around the entire end of the hotel, offering 180-degree views of Vegas. As mentioned, it's all about service here, with staff members standing by, ready to cater to your every whim. So do yourself a favor and check out the spa area. There are extra-large treatment rooms, a full workout facility and a private pool surrounded by cabanas that are free of charge to guests. There are even staff members who mist you with Evian water when the desert sun gets to be too hot. And although it may seem like an adult resort, children are encouraged as well as spoiled, enjoying welcome gifts like toys and goodies. Rooms are even childproofed in advance. Amenities are even available for guests with pets. And best of all, when one gets the urge to see all that Sin City has to offer, guests need only walk through the hallway that empties into the young, hip Mandalay Bay resort. Entertainment: The hotel has no attractions, entertainment or shops. Guests seeking a little nightlife can check out the Mandalay Bay resort which features Shark Reef, House of Blues, a casino and race and sports book. Dining: The hotel has only one restaurant, The Veranda. This wonderfully designed restaurant is open 24 hours and offers indoor and outdoor seating in a lush tropical atmosphere featuring a mix of Mexican, Californian, Italian and Asian specialties. There's also a full Sunrise Breakfast Buffet available Saturdays and Sundays. But make sure to get there early; it's one of the best buffets in town. Weddings: As with every other request, weddings at the Four Seasons can take place wherever you desire: on the steps of the Grand Staircase, outside on the terrace, in the comfort of your own suite. Customized wedding cakes, whatever linen or china pattern you desire, entertainment by DJs and harpists -- it's all you, you, you. Just tell the wedding planners what you want and -- POOF! -- it's done.

A Four Star Disapointment
By scarlettpixidst on 12/05/2004
Unfortunately, the Las Vegas version does not live up to the Four Seasons name and accompanying reputation. My four-nights' stay involved one frustrating delay after another. It took 45 minutes after I checked in to receive my luggage. When ordering room service on the first evening, I was quoted a time of 45 minutes and did not get my COLD filet for one hour and 15 minutes. I arrived for my massage 20 minutes early and had to wait half an hour for the spa technician, making me late for my dinner reservations. The "One Hour Pressing" took two and a half hours and came back with spots from the steamer. I will seriously be reconsidering any stay at this property - the Ritz, even though seventeen miles away, seems like a welcome change.
