Rate and Write a Review Forget the goofy images that the name connotes. This small, friendly establishment near UNLV is a haven for beer connoisseurs and epicureans. It's one of the only establishments in Las Vegas to earn an endorsement from the "Green" Restaurant Association denoting its ecological friendliness. That doesn't mean its menu is restricted to green salads and yams, though -- more like sweet potato fries and bacon burgers. The Portobello melt is a favorite. The real reason that people "freak" over this place, though, is the outstanding beer selection. The owner stocks more than 300 bottled varieties and 10 on tap (not the usual Bud-Miller-Coors assemblage, either). If you've been hankering for Arrogant Bastard Ale, Chimay Blue or a Peche Lambic, this place is your best bet. The owner, a beer lover himself, is constantly on the lookout for new and wonderful brews, so if he doesn't stock your favorite, there's a good chance you can convince him to special-order it. There are also 50 wines available by the glass. Entertainment usually consists of movies projected against the wall and impromptu customer jams that occur whenever someone decides to make use of the instruments lying against one wall.
