Rate and Write a Review It may not appeal to party-all-night casino-hoppers, but the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas has several qualities unique to Las Vegas hotels, and is worth a visit even for those who opt to stay elsewhere. Located 30 minutes from the Strip, this posh resort sits on 21 acres of lakefront property, and has a Scottsdale-meets-Morocco design, with a lagoon and a championship golf course out front that heightens its desert oasis ambience. The casino has the feel of a European gaming parlor; it's small, with large windows that look out on the mountains and surrounding desert. It actually closes at 2AM. Rooms are standard size but tastefully appointed with Moroccan imports. Most feature "Juliet"-style balconies or patios. There are two swimming pools, a beach, a 9,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, and several restaurants. Golf privileges at the Reflection Bay Club are extended to hotel guests. The Hyatt Lake Las Vegas is Henderson's best kept secret for kayakers; the only drawback is that it's available to hotel guests only. The picturesque white sand beach makes it all worthwhile, however. Prices are $15 an hour for a one-person kayak and $20 an hour for a two-person kayak.
