Main Street Station has evolved into one of downtown's classiest destinations. The architecture suggests 1890's New Orleans with its brick promenade, magnolia trees, and Victorian street lamps. Inside, the hotel makes liberal use of hardwood and tile floors, gas lamps, brass fixtures and enough antiques to fill a Southern mansion. You will also find Theodore Roosevelt's Pullman railroad car and a section of the Berlin Wall. Excellent restaurants and a buffet are available. -- Peggy Strickler

Pullman, Brewery, and casino

The prime rib at Pullman Grill inside Main Street Station can't be beat! And the house-brewed beers in the Brewery are excellent, too. By far my favorite downtown casino.

Downtown Gem

After several Vegas visits staying at Strip mega-resorts, we decided to give MSS a try, and were very glad we did. While not luxurious by Strip standards, the rooms were clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. Better yet was the price: free. A few hours play from a prior visit put us on their mailing list for free room offers which we get each month. The casino is the nicest downtown, Victorian theme with stained glass, antiques, and polished dark wood accents. Casino offers better casino games (including a very good video poker selection) than is typically found on the Strip. The casino has very high ceilings which makes cigarette smoke almost non-existent, rare in LV casinos, especially downtown. Food in the brew pub is very good, and their buffet is by far the best one downtown. A quirky touch is an actual section of the Berlin wall in the Men’s room! (Ladies, ask your male companion to sneak you in when the coast is clear).
