Mt Charleston Cabins

My wife and I recently dropped in to check on rates and availability - what a disaster! The woman doing reservations was rude, when we asked about rates in Dec, she told us that the rates were posted in a pamphlet. After we reviewed the rates we decided to book, she advised us that they went up in December (which was our original question). We asked the rate if we brought our dog - was quoted a rate and then later advised a different rate with the dog (which was standing there). We were advised that we could reserve a room, that our credit card wouldn't be charged until Dec 1 and if we cancelled at that time we would be subject to a 10% fee. If we cancelled less than one week prior to our date, we would be subject to the full fee. Eventhough this wasn't in writing, we booked. A few days later our plans changed and we cancelled the reservation 10 days prior to Dec 1 but was told we were going to be charged the 10% anyway - didn't matter what was said and she hung up. We'll never go back there again despite the beautiful location. If you do - get everything in writing!

Always a good experience

I have gone to this lodge to eat on different occasions with different people and every time it is a good experience. What makes this place is the atmosphere and environment you can't get anywhere else in Vegas. The breathtaking views alone make it worth the trip. I am going back again today, bringing someone new.

Log cabin rentals are nice. Beautiful views from private balconys. Restaurant is a bit overpriced food is ok ,no entertainment weekdays only Fri & Sat. There is a nice lounge in the hotel at the base of the mountain if you head back down the mountain. Overall an ok place to stay for one night.
