Nicknamed the "Cherokee Cowboy," Ray Price is both a WWII verteran and a veteran of the country music scene. Championed by Hank Williams Sr., Price had an easy ride into Nashville and picked up Williams' back band for his own. They later became the Cherokee Cowboys and experienced some success. Ray hit his stride in the late '50s and never looked back -- he's been topping the charts for almost 40 years now, most recently with his ex-bassist Willie Nelson in the '80s. Price's legendary status among country musicians is well documented. Fans will enjoy 'Prisoner of Love,' which was released in 2000. -- Michael Brooks Cryer
