In a town famous for the consistent quality of its live entertainment, where even the trapeze artists at Circus Circus won't work without a safety net, a brave band of young comics takes the stage at the Flamingo every week with absolutely no idea of what sort of show they're about to create. 'Second City Scriptless' features members of the famed improv troupe performing a variety of games, songs and skits for which the raw material is provided by suggestions from the audience. If you ever watched 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' you've got a rough idea of how it works, but even that show has the luxury of stopping tape and editing out the skits that lay an egg. On stage, there are no do-overs. Among the most popular routines are an impromptu story as told in various literary styles such as Jane Austen or porn magazine and a skit in which performers must change what they are saying to its opposite every time they hear a bell. Audience suggestions might have the cast playing different celebrities at a party game or assuming accents from French and German to Klingon and pig latin. And apparently scriptless also means censorless, so parental discretion is advised.
