The Producers

Rating: 4 out of 5  (2 Ratings)   Read Reviews (2)    Rate and Write a Review

With the biggest sets, costumes, clever songs and belly laughs from the mind of Mel Brooks, The Producers is a show everyone should see at least once, with a classic storyline: a crooked producer and his accountant cook up a scheme to present an eye-popping lavish theatrical fiasco – and pocket the money before the curtain falls. David Hasselhoff left the role of the outrageously flamboyant Roger DeBris in early May 2007 to focus on other projects. Best known for his roles in Knight Rider and Baywatch, Hasselhoff has also had a successful recording career and acclaimed stage performances in Chicago and Jekyll & Hyde. The Producers stars Brad Oscar as scheming, down-on-his-luck Max Bialystock. Oscar has previously played this role on Broadway and on London's West End, and in fact, has played Max in over 1100 performances - more than anyone else in the show's history. He's also appeared on Broadway in Aspects of Love, Jekyll and Hyde and Forbidden Broadway.

Readers Digest Version
By scott83843 on 02/19/2007
For anyone who saw the "real" play, this is a cheap knock off. Typical Vegas way of doing things, give them less, charge them more. What a shame - such a good cast, but it loses the continuity with all the cut numbers (5 I think we counted when we saw it). Best numbers in the play are "Betrayed" and "That Face" (explains where Leo and Ulla fall in love), but both were cut from this version. When will Las Vegas get rid of this silly Hour and a half show rule? Also felt like everyone was rushing their lines.

The Hoff Pulls It Off!
By kitchencanary on 02/11/2007
You have to be comfortable in your own 6'4" body and willing to be a "tad" silly to be able to pull off what the Hoff has done with his part. He looked like he was having a lot of fun and he wanted the audience to have fun too. And did we ever!!! I laughed, I roared, I enjoyed and so did everybody around me. I saw a preview show and want to go back and see the final product. Just seeing his "grand entrance" again - is worth the price of the ticket! All the other actors and actresses and the whole cast were fantastic and deserved their standing ovation.
