There's no truth to the rumor that Battista's had to expand its location across from Bally's just to accommodate the number of signed photos from celebrity diners that line the walls. Yet all those 8x10 glossies serve as stunning proof that long before Las Vegas evolved into a gourmet mecca, Battista's was one of the few must-eat places in town. And despite having more than two hundred restaurants now within walking distance of this venerable institution, you still might have to wait for a table. Perhaps this is because Battista's serves what it always has: basic, family-style Italian food. The reasonably priced main course also includes soup, salad, wine and spumoni. Choose from pasta, chicken or veal dishes. The strolling accordionist, however, either delights or annoys, depending on one's tolerance for such things.

Not Impressed
By minuet80203 on 10/18/2008
I was there awhile ago everyone raves about this place. A 12 year old could make better food. Prices way out of line for the quality. Wouldnt even want to spend 1/2 for this meal. Can not recommend this restaurant even a little. Dont understand who in their right mind would like this, are you all from Podunk, Idaho?

How did this place make the list??
By roycpa1 on 07/29/2008
I can't believe this place made the list at all! Atmosphere is funky and fine. Food quality is MUCH below that of Olive Garden or Pasta House. Its actually worse than any fast food italian place, including Pizza Hut's pasta. The wine is the kind you get in a box for your refrigerator. Not much flavor in the pasta - I've been twice, I thought the first time might have been a bad night - I was wrong! For $35.00++ per person, certainly not a bargain. Probably better pasta on the Circus-Circus Buffet!! This rating makes one suspicious of the entire best of... listins.

A must visit in Las Vegas
By FRAGCO on 07/25/2008
i visit Las Vegas 3 times a year and never fail to go to the hole in the wall for dinner. The food and the wine is delightful and the accordianist is adds a little color. I have introduced several people to this establishment and all were very pleased to have enjoyed a great meal and excellant service. Looking forward to my next visit to Las Vegas and The Hole In The Wall
