OMG--The Worst
We were visiting Las Vegas and was looking throught the Yellow Pages, when His ad for this restaurant caught our attention. We then chose to go for dinner. Firstly, we had to call for directions (as we are not from the area). The person who answered gave directions sending us in the actual opposite way. After finally locating the place, his waiter (non English/Persian speaking) gave us the menu. We did not see most of the entrees that were advertised on the menu. The prices on his menu were extremely inflated, compared to the prices that he advertised. The owner, we assume Habib, came to us and explained that he had seven "specials". The prices were twice as much as what was advertised. We hope he reads this review (or someone can translate it for him). An explanation of special in the United States means that you are giving a dish at a specially discounted rate than what the actual price usually is--not double or triple the normal cost. His lack of knowledge as to the use of the English language was absolutely ridiculous. A 3 year old learning how to talk had a better grasp at the concept than this man. We did not understand (even though I am Persian), what he was explaining to us. Before we could even order, he rudely told us that he had to tell us the prices because people would complain to him once they recieved their check. Now we know why. His deception was very, very clear. He had enough nerve to ask us if we could afford his restaurant. Furthermore, we noticed that he would not allow his head waiter to interact with the customers--he was not allowed to put the food on the table. The waiter had to wait by our table, with our food in his hands, waiting for this guy to put it down. He came and opened my bottle of what I chose to drink, without asking, he proceeded to pour it into my glass. I told him that I was waiting for my entree to show up before I wanted it. His food was extremely unimpressive--to say the least. There was proportionatley more rice on the plate, than the meat to go along with it. The food was horrible and we couldn't finish it. When we were ready to leave (and we were ready), we tried several times to get his attention to bring the check and, after exactly 37 minutes, my husband had to chase him down and demand that he give us our check. Once we saw the check, we saw that he had doubled the cost of everything we ordered. The money was not so much the issue, but the food and service are.
He also advertised belly dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. The show was exactly 3 minutes long. The music was extrmely loud and there was no space for the dancer to perform. A place for a dancer to perform is enjoyable, but, when the dancer's rear end is in your face while you are trying to eat, also adds to the negative experience.
We have witnessed this man mistreat his employee. His greed and dishonesty is beyond any kind of normal behavior we have ever seen. His rude behavior and lack of knowledge in his communication and socialization skills are unbelievable.
We strongly recommend that Mr. Habib get to know the culture and way of life here in the United States. My husband believes that this man has come from a small village in Iran where most people were deprived of education, hygiene and social skills. He told us that not all Iranians are like this. We are very, very happy about that.
We DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone.
cute but not my favorite
I read acouple of reviews before writing and have a couple comments. You KNEW it was from the same people of 40 y/o virgen, so you had to know what to expect. Also, this movie is a sign of out times ... this aint the 80's ... humor is different, norms have changed and the movie reflected that well. The HUMOR, while cute and slap stick ...isnt my fav, but was expectly light. Although the recycling got ald... all the same charchters, while charming along with the similar vibe of the story
good chicken abd hunnus
the chicken is great
Watch out
Watch out when they hand you the menu without prices. I asked for one with prices(many excuses), and when the check came they had inflated the bill by at least $50. Very long wait for food (two hours ) . This was the only restaurant I have been in where I encouraged my baby to scream! If you cant speak Farsi, expect to be ripped off. Filthy baby seat(stained with feces and urine). Nasty manager. Add up the bill yourself or expect to be ripped off.
