World-renowned Chef Joel Robuchon brings Paris to the MGM Grand with this upscale French restaurant located inside the space that used to be the hotel's race and sports book, a sign that quality cuisine has taken a graciously higher spot in Vegas' priorities. L'Atelier's impressive dining room features unique counter service that allows patrons to watch the masterful chefs prepare their meal in front of their eyes. The modern decor sports a bold black and red color scheme throughout. Seating options include table seating, but the real action takes place at the granite topped U-shaped bar that offers great views of the kitchen. Authentic French dishes such as la caille farcie de foie gras and agneau en carre dore are just two of the restaurant's signature dishes. Though Joel Robuchon doesn't personally oversee the kitchen -- as with any celebrity chef with multiple restaurants -- the menu and execution of the dishes are beholden completely to his style and demands of consistent excellence. A tasting menu and an extensive selection of wines from around the world are available at price levels that even that average gambler will find affordable.

overpriced

We just came back from Vegas and the MGM and ate at Robuchon's. Small portions and very expensive. But I expected that from a French resturant. The waiter was like a robot. The house wine that was recommended was poured at 3oz per glass was a crazy $21 per glass. We will never go there again

Solo Diner's Gourmet Paradise
By cudas67 on 03/31/2007
I had occasion to dine at L'Atelier in September of 2006 during the course of a business convention. Looking for a place where I would not be conspicuous as a solo diner, I was delighted to find such a charming locale with outstanding fare. The staff was marvelous, engaging in conversation, providing access to the sommelier for tasting of some of the premier wines available. It was the highlight of my trip to Las Vegas.

What a joke!
By zlawoffice on 03/11/2007
I wrote a lenthy review complaing to Mobil about their silly 5 star rating for very poor food. But, the bread cooked by probably the hourly minimum wage worker was excellent and they must have known this because they push the bread like nothing my wife and I have ever seen. The main course on their price fixed menu was very small and surprisingly fishy. They put foam on everything which just adds to the silliness. Absolutely one of the poorest meals we have ever had anywhere. I suggest saving your money and having a far superior meal by eating at Lawry's and seeing Penn and Teller
