Rate and Write a Review Upscale buffets are all the rage in Vegas, and if you've never been to France, Le Village Buffet may be the closest you'll get. One of the most entertaining venues in town, Le Buffet is modeled after a quaint French countryside village. Most of the dining is done in the "town square" under a faux sky, but several houses surrounding the square offer more intimate spaces. Offering a unique touch, the buffet is divided into five separate and extensive food stations, each representing a Gallic region. Servers dressed in peasant gowns flit from table to table, and chefs from Alsace, Burgundy, Normandy, Brittany and Provence are on hand to add authenticity to the dishes in their respective stations. It isn't all French food, however. Breakfast items include French toast (ironically enough), smoked salmon, fruit crepes and Eggs Benedict. For lunch and dinner, the buffet offers duck terrine, chilled Alaskan king crab legs, hand-carved roasted pit ham with blackberry sauce, Alsatian veal with onion marmalade and stir-fried seasonal vegetables. Topping it all off are the authentic pastries and live-action dessert stations; make sure to try the bananas Foster (sauteed bananas in a rich caramel sauce) and hand-made crepes. The Sunday brunch includes unlimited champagne (albeit for a higher price), and make sure to arrive early -- reservations are not accepted. Mon dieu!
