Gambling in Style
Was put up here for a recent conference, and what a treat this place is. It's massive, and in a prime location for scouting out other large casinos nearby in Vegas (walkway to the New York, New York and Tropicana, Luxor and Excalibur are all close as well). There are plenty of restaurants within the MGM, including Emeril's, Wolfgang Puck's, The Brown Derby, and several others, including a few bars and even an oxygen bar. The spa here is excellent, but costly, and the little theme park they had seemed closed, perhaps for good, which is too bad because it had some neat stuff in there. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the showers are excellent, the bathrooms spacious. Prepare to do some walking in this or any other major hotel in Vegas, the hallways and casino floors stretch on endlessly! Room service was also pricey (of course) but very courteous and prompt, and made for quite a nice stay. I only wish our conference was going to be here next year (it's not) but the next trip I take to Vegas will very likely be based out of the MGM Grand. I also have to mention the dealer named Baleen, a very cool guy from NY state who kept us all entertained and in good spirits while we gave him our money over Blackjack.
