Chef Gabriele Penazzi earned his name-above-the-door status at his Harrah's eatery after 30 years in the wine and restaurant industries. Having earned Master Sommelier degrees in both Italy and the U.S., Penazzi has worked in some of the finest restaurants, and brings that wealth of experience to his classical Italian cuisine, served with a modern-day twist. Given his world-class reputation, which on the Strip sometimes translates into brusque formality and tabs that require a second mortgage, the welcoming atmosphere and mid-priced menu are unexpected pleasures. An adjacent oyster bar offers fresh oysters, clams and seafood specialties.

Sadly disappointing microwaved
We had the chicken. If you go, don't have the chicken! It is from a portion-controlled box, then heated up in the microwave. The pasta wasn't much better. Also, right out of the microwave. The place is beautiful, the service is excellent, the bread is outstanding. But who needs to pay these prices for bread? Try the buffet next door. They have great bread too.
