The romantic reputation of Bellagio's remarkable Picasso restaurant received an additional boost from the 2001 film 'Ocean's Eleven.' Table 34, where the characters played by George Clooney and Julia Roberts rekindled their romance, has become a popular tourist request. The culinary artwork of famed chef Julian Serrano vies for attention with $50 million worth of original Picassos on the walls, a collection so impressive that diners routinely wander through the restaurant between courses to view them all. Picasso spent much of his life in Spain and the south of France, and Serrano's cuisine likewise draws inspiration from these regions. Surrender to such delicacies as warm lobster salad with mangoes, langoustine pulled live from a tank, medallions of fallow deer, and sauteed foie gras with Madeira sauce. Squab breast cut into tiny slices and moistened with jus spooned from a tiny copper pot, and truffle-crusted lamb with Parmesan potatoes are also favorites. Two prix fixe menus are offered nightly. This restaurant did not meet my expectations. The food and the service where just so so. The manager was rude and we had to wait way too long to get in.

This was one of the best restaurant we ate at on our recent stay in Las Vegas. This restaurant rivals any 4 star restaurant we have eaten at in any major city in the U.S. Have your coffee on the veranda an watch the spectacular fountain show. You will forget that you are in Las Vegas and think you are in Paris looking at the Eiffel tower.

My wife and I had dinner at Picasso on 9/7. We are fortunate to travel often and eat at many great restaurants. We give the food=2=good because it did not meet our expectations (the wine pairings with the 5-course meal were what dragged down their score). We give BLAKE (from Madison, WI) credit to earning Picasso a service score of 4=extraordinary. If you go, ask for one of BLAKE's tables when making your reservation. Reservations are a must. They only do 4 seatings (6:00,6:30,9:00,9:30), but do not manage to those timeframes very well so you may arrive on time and have to wait. Atmosphere is just 2=good because there are tables upfront that get too much traffic from the kitchen and bar, and the boom of the fountain (water) show outside is cute at first, but actually becomes distracting. If you want to make the fountain (water) show part of your dining experience, ask for a table outside on the veranda.
