You'd have to look long and hard to find a Strip-adjacent restaurant as kid-friendly as the Rainforest Cafe. It's unclear if its family attitude is a company policy, given the restaurant's location at the MGM Grand; longtime Vegas visitors may remember that the Grand pulled a 'Wizard of Oz' display out of the casino. But the Cafe has been fortunate to attract some truly nice waiters and a staff eager to serve. The two-story, 500-seat restaurant is decorated in Early Jungle, with dense green foliage on the walls, cascading waterfalls and a spectacular lightning show. Little ones are especially tickled by the presence of animated and stuffed animals throughout the dining area. The menu features typical themed-cafe fare -- burgers, pizzas, pastas and sandwiches -- with appropriately creative names such as Gorillas in the Mist Cheesecake. Check out the gift shop, which is usually as busy as the restaurant.

Poor service, poor food,
By grainbowjudy on 09/24/2005
After waiting more than 20 minutes for someone to take our order, and 45 minutes for our food, the King Crab I ordered, which was expensive, was soft and spongy. I could not even crack it. I spoke to the manager and he was unconcerned. Did not offer any retribution. I will not return.

Love the shrimp scampi. It is always consistant and is the same in all locations. I can't resist the going to any location. The scampi is the best I have ever had. But, you have to like garlic. Shrimp lovers must come here.
