In ShortSocial House is the total package. Sitting atop Tangerine Lounge, the eclectic pan-Asian restaurant has a modern design heavily influenced by Japanese culture. Brass file boxes, considered good luck, line a stairway and lighting fixtures placed inside bird cages hang above the lounge. The maze of rooms offers several sitting options, a 10-seat sushi bar and outdoor terrace among them. Popular items include the Citrus Peel Miso Marinated Cod and fruit-infused sake.

Overpriced and disorganized
By mortimerdear on 02/26/2007
I dined with six friends at Social House and had an over-priced, extremely disappointing experience. Our waiter, while extremely nice, just couldn't get his act together. He forgot drink orders and food items. One member of the party was vegetarian and asked him to indicate appropriate items, he indicated some items, which were ordered but came back to the table 15 minutes later to indicate that the items were, in fact, not vegetarian. Items were brought to the table haphazardly (plain rice with nothing to eat with it) and even though new items were selected for the vegetarian, they arrived so much later than the other items that everyone else had finished eating. The most ridiculously priced item was a plate of fried tofu for $17 (apparently when they substitute the squid for tofu, they don't think the price needs to be adjusted). Don't waste your time or money on Social House.

Rip-off
By lesanglierrouge on 02/13/2007
The food was a rip-off from and price and inspiration standpoint. It was priced the same as Nobu without delivering the quality. The service was slow and inefficient. I was charged $25 for two slices of toro. I left feeling violated.
