Note: The Salt Lick is set to open April, 2006. In Austin, Texas, Salt Lick is synonymous with great barbecue. The original location opened in 1969, on a family-owned ranch using recipes that had been passed down from the Civil War era. Las Vegas, a town surprisingly underrepresented in the barbecue arts, can enjoy a slice of Austin's finest, as Salt Lick has fired up a pit inside the Red Rock Casino. The menu has survived the transition intact, offering such Salt Lick staples as ribs, brisket, pulled pork and their famous cobbler dessert. Since each barbecue plate is served with potato salad, coleslaw, beans, bread, pickles, and onions, there's no chance of going away hungry.

Not the Barbeque Your Dad Makes
By Wbischo on 06/20/2008
The barbeque was certainly "different". I can't say it was "bad", but it was not what I think of when I crave good barbeque sauce. The "sides were good, and the service was good. Just not my kind of barbeque.
