Chef Enrique Tinoco has long been acclaimed as an artist in the kitchen, so what better place for a second location of his Tinoco's Bistro than at the Arts Factory? Like some of the abstract paintings in the neighboring galleries, his creations defy easy description; part Latin, part European, his old world classics are always rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. Specialties include escolar, seared salmon and Dungeness crab cakes, as well as the bistro's signature dish, a Chilean sea bass with a curry lobster sauce. You'd expect to pay premium prices for cuisine this special, especially when accompanied by memorable soups, breads, salads and side dishes. But Tinoco's offers lunch and dinner entrees for $10, making them affordable even for a starving artist. -- David Hofstede
