The name kinda says it all here -- if you're not a seafood lover, steer clear of the Rio's Village Seafood Buffet. They do offer prime rib and steak for those who don't heed this advice, but given the high-end price you'd be wasting your money if you don't like cuisine that swims. The emphasis is on freshness here, and that means everything when it comes to seafood. The steamed clams, swordfish, calamari, salmon and king crab legs all taste as if they were just caught. Don't miss the Mongolian Seafood Barbecue, which features a separate selection of shrimp, scallops, fish or squid. Desserts include a variety of tortes, cheesecakes, pies, cakes and cookies.

We (3 women from Chicago) visited the buffet on Feb. 23 2003 and found it to be very over rated. The only thing different from the other buffets was the lobster which had been in water for so long that it had no taste at all. The ambiance stunk and it was a big feeding frenzy. Besides that, what they had quoted for price at this site was terribly outdated. It actually cost $33 including tax and our waitress was not friendly. We went in at 4:30 so it wasn't like she'd been working all night! Save your money and go to Mandolay Bay where for $21.95 you get the seafood plus a wonderful ambiance. I must also recommend the Monte Carlo which was only $15 and had equally good food and wonderful ambiance.

I'm a local. That means I know all about the buffet's. I'm originally from New England. That means I know all about seafood. Yes, Rio is a bit pricey, but when you see the quality and variety of the fresh seafood, you will see that it is well worth it. I can eat at any restaurant I choose, and I choose Rio's Village Seafood Buffet. By the way, what kind of idiots eat prime rib at a seafood buffet? Anyway, idiot tourists not withstanding, If you love seafood, great atmosphere, fast & friendly service, all at a reasonable price, do the Rio.

Hi,I had the seafood buffet last week with my family. It was 30 bucks each, and the bottom line is that I would go again. The most popular item among others was the Alaskan Crab Legs. To be honest, the crab and seafood at this place is BLAND and starchy, since it obvioulsy isnt that fresh and it is just boiled. The same can be said for the cocktail shrimp. However, the sashimi was extremly fresh and tasty. It included tuna, salmon, and albacore I believe. Their raw oysters where very good as well. Let's put it this way, if it werent for the raw food, I wouldnt go to this place again.
