While this pub/club sounds like it was named after Mexico's greatest porn star, it is actually one of Long Island's most frequented nightspots, combining a pub atmosphere with a late-night club vibe. Featuring live bands and an up-for-anything twentysomething crowd, the Donkey has become such a nocturnal institution that it even has its very own gift shop, where you can purchase Crazy Donkey mementos and disposable cameras. Parking is a cinch -- though with Crazy Donkey drink specials, you may want to scribble down a few cab numbers before departing your crib. A word of warning: The staff is a seriously gorgeous bunch (and often minimally dressed), so account for some drool-time when you make a date to meet your friends by the stage.

Don't waste your time
By sungreen182 on 08/12/2006
Girls~ you better be wearing a super short jean skirt or croch hugger shorts or else you'll look like an outcast. Guys~ don't forget to grease back your hair and leave your flip flops at home. If your a beachy kinda person, this is not the place for you. And by the way these are not the type of people I would call 'attractive'. And ladies beware- the outside deck is full of nasty pervs starring down at the few chicks that actually hang out here. But I guess when chicks dress like that, they should know better. This place is more like a sausage fest than a fun time.

don't bother, really...
By odalaighs on 09/11/2004
too crowded, too stuck-up, too expensive, you leave weezing and coughing, wait forever for your car and can't wait to take a shower when you get home because you feel so grimmy... The bartenders are beautiful, but are just as fake as their breasts, real snotty. The bands are the best part, really great, but also really loud, they are the 1 star... The cover charge isn't bad, but the drinks are way, way to expensive and watered down. Never had a chance to try the food, just way to crowded. Also, it's a nice place to look but don't touch, you won't get any, and you'll either get beat up by a jealous boyfriend or by her as most women in there consider themselves better than everyone else. That's about it. I've been going past 2 yrs, about 2x's a month, usually w/coworkers or friends, so this is a pretty honest realistic review. I'm not saying don't go, but there are so many other places you're not missing anything here!
