Blackstone Steakhouse   

Owned by the Rothmann Group, Blackstone is perhaps one of the first of a new breed of steakhouses that are reinventing a culinary genre. Although this ultra-sophisticated restaurant serves everything you'd expect from a top-notch steak house, such as a 14 oz. filet mignon in sherry shallot sauce, they've also gone fishing and returned with a persillade-crusted salmon with a mixture of panko bread crumbs, grated Gruyere and chiodini mushrooms. Sides are equally innovative and include the traditional but en vogue Brussels sprout, to the more exotic eggplant and miso. There's also a plethora of sushi and sashimi, which slip down with the help of one of the many exotic types of sake, including ''Dreamy Clouds,'' which blends an aroma of rice and red plums, and may actually go nicely with the roasted rack of lamb.
