Despite several other steakhouses within cattle-driving distance, Burton & Doyle remains the grazing ground of choice for upscale carnivores tired of commuting to Manhattan's finest meat emporiums. The dining room decor is a mix of 1920s cafe society and swanky hotel, as dark cherry-wood furnishings frame oversize paintings of handsome young gentry. If your appetite is as gargantuan as the dining room, you may want to start by slicing open a healthy cut of filet mignon with gorgonzola crust, and finish by washing it all down with a few glasses of Napa's Fisher Cabernet Sauvignon. However, man cannot live on meat alone (unless you're pre-historic), so don't forget a side of sauteed spinach and potatoes mashed with horseradish. While the prices may drop your jaw even before the food arrives, rest assured that you're eating USDA Prime and that you are, after all, at a fine steakhouse and not a burger joint.

What happened to this place?
By Skibrew210 on 10/12/2008
I dont know what happened to that place. It used to be good!! The new menu isnot for those who want to eat good, and the service went downhill. I asked a waiter who has been there for years, to take my order and he said, i have to get my partner. What??????? Used to be a good place with good service, now it sucks, The desserts are horrid. Stay away. I had the honey cake, and my friend had the chocolate cake, they both were a joke for the price. What happened to the bannana cream pie and everything else \that used to be good?

Burton nd Doyle

In my opinion, was there for dinner and had one drink each, salad, steak and a shared dessert for over 210.00 for 2 people. the quality of the meat is subpar and not on the level of the other 's like luger, b & c, and morton. Annoying waiter's who come to your table every 5 minutes to ask if everything is okay and constantly interrupt your conversations. will not ever go back, gave it 3 visits and never will i go back to eat glorified roast beef again imo.
