John's Drive-In   

Anyone who remembers Montauk in the 1960s probably remembers taking the convertible over to John's Drive-In for a Big John burger or a fishwich. Established in 1967, this colourful Montauk landmark is a favorite for vacationing families and locals alike, and was probably one of the reasons sweet-tooth Andy Warhol loved Montauk. This burger and shake joint has it all -- from seasoned fries to chili dogs to a hearty plate of flounder and chips. But no trip to Montauk would be complete without a home-made ice cream sundae with butter pecan, vanilla fudge and sprinkles. The prices are outrageous, in a good way, and if you drive-in to John's with a ten-spot, you'll be driving out with change. You can even sit outside while nursing your coffee or banana thick shake, and watch the surfers go by on their way to Ditch Plains.
