Rate and Write a Review Sayville has a rich legacy by way of gay history: It's even been reported that Oscar Wilde spent time here as the house guest of Robert Roosevelt at his mansion north of Middle Road. On your way to The Bunk House these days, you're more likely to run into one of the Fab Five or even the legendary Harvey Fierstein, en-route to Cherry Grove. The Bunk House is one of the most exciting clubs on the Island, with everything from country and western nights and go-go dancing, to Tuesday movie night. This is the sort of watering hole where before long you'll be part of the family -- and the family grows, especially in summer when the place cranks with the Fire Island set. Just don't expect to call for directions, as there's a good chance it's so loud they won't be able to hear you.
