What you need is a slice of pizza, and Albert's in Copiague, known for its airy crust and old-world attitude, can grudgingly oblige. It's not the friendliest pizzeria you'll find on the Island -- only the cartoon guy on the pizza box smiles -- but the pies win accolades and the place is unyieldingly popular. Maybe it has something to with that magical space between the sauce and the cheese, which people who frequent Albert's can't say enough about. While you wouldn't call the staff cheerful, you have to remember that making delicious pizza can be tough -- especially with so much competition -- so be magnanimous and maybe get your unrivalled Sicilian pie to go.
