The Hollywood grapevine was abuzz with curiosity over this nightclub when it first debuted, possibly in part because it was launched by the former manager of Spider Club and frequented by numerous celebs including Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey and a host of other hot monikers. The only trouble is, most people don't know exactly where it is. Well, people, here's your tip: Element is right in plain sight, taking up a good chunk of space on the nicest block of Las Palmas, right where the nightclub Blue used to be. And it's looking great, even though it's still in renovations. Exposed brickwork, elegant slate trim and low-slung black and cream-colored furniture replace the gaudy aqua decor that existed previously. The bad news is that, for now, it's only open for private events (the DVD release party for 'Saw,' the Masters of Horror kickoff party with John Carpenter and Wes Craven, the 'Newlyweds' wrap party, to name a few) unless you happen to be on the guest list for Tuesday night's "friends and family" party. As an events venue, Element is unparalleled for one main reason: the service. Every staff member, from the partners to the bartenders to the doorman, is committed to offering patrons the best, warmest, most unpretentious service possible -- and in Hollywood, that's a commodity rarer than spun gold. More than the elegant decor or the great location, that's what brings the star-studded crowds here. And the partners promise to keep that philosophy even after they open to the public, and ideally, forever and ever. Three cheers!

worst run club in LA
By tazkewl007 on 02/18/2008
We were in line for over an hour in the freezing cold. And over and over a lot of the management friends, and ton of ugly people, kept been invited in. My friend asked the bouncers at what time the club open, which they said at 10:30pm. But we got there around 10:05pm. Around 10:50pm we made it to the front of the line. But of course, everybody else except us was let in. We were ignore, we could of walk inside and they probably wouldnt noticed. The girl that was doing the guest list, not only was an amateur but didnt know what she was doing. As a matter of fact, the whole staff was not prepare. Seems like management doesnt know what they are doing. Around 11:15pm someone asked us how many people in our group and we finally walked in. Then they tell us that we have to pay 20 dollars. Apparently the guest list stops at 11pm. I told them the line situation and they look at me like what kind of ******* they think they are. As were talking the other bouncers got mad at us because we were holding the line. Can you believe this people balls? Now I see that people in here have been overcharge in their credit cards. Screw this place. Stay away from it. I hope it burns down to hell like most of this hollyweird spots. Dive bars are the way to go.

I was there yesterday and sat an hour just to get in the fckn place (even though I was on the guest list). Long story short...i purchased one drink on my card and they added an additional $60...they ripped me off. DO NOT USE YOUR CARD if you do go. I highly suggest not to get ripped off by these scandals.

came here for the first time friday night. huge line when we drove past it. valet parking is available for a fee of $20. we got to the back of the line, stood there for a minute when a lady with a clipboard asked if we were on a list. we said no then she said, "come with me." then zoom ---- ! we were in front of the line being let in. the inside was real nice. nice big dance floor and music mix was great. real good experience!
