As close to the 405 as the beach, the Ambrose Hotel is nestled close to St. John's Hospital and Santa Monica's green checkerboard neighborhoods. Considered a "home within a hotel," the boutique-style Ambrose juxtaposes exposed beam-ceilings of the California Craftsman period with touches of contemporary design, and features an Asian-inspired garden furnished with a koi pond and lucky bamboo in an atmosphere described as "non-hotel" hotel, aligning beauty and nature in order to bring form and function to all of its generously designed spaces. The Ambrose features meticulously arranged rooms that take the best of the past and the present for interior design. While lounging on high thread-count linens, guests can relax in plush robes and slippers offered by the hotel and can take advantage of 24-hour in-room dining and a complimentary continental breakfast. Aside from nearby sprawl and the distant Santa Monica Mountains, the hotel doesn't boast much in terms of views.
