A multilevel, Hollywood-style supper club, Aura caters to the 818's young trendsetters and thirtysomething homeowners with dinner, dancing and a glitzy bar scene. From 6-10PM Aura is a swank eatery suitable for dates, the office happy hour and parties, thanks to a dining room menu boasting continental and Asian flavors. After 10PM guests gather around the expansive bar area and watch the centrally located DJ spin the night away as dancers move to everything from electronic and funk to hip-hop and spun pop. Steve Scarduzio and James G. Robinson have created an elegant, velvet-red sanctuary that benefits from sultry low-lighting and private, high-backed booths. Aura's opening party lured a few star neighbors, proving Ventura Boulevard has finally gained a chic new identity, complete with the standard paparazzi. But don't arrive expecting the scene to be just a carbon copy of Hollywood nightlife. While weekends draw throngs of trendsters testing the Studio City waters, a local crowd tends to favor Aura on the weekdays.
